Darrell ‘Blake’ Apffel is a Partner and second generation attorney at Apffel Legal, PLLC, where he blends his sharp legal acumen with an approachable style to guide clients through complex civil and criminal litigation. With a primary focus on personal injury, Blake has spent over a decade building a reputation of delivering results with integrity and compassion.
A lifelong resident of Galveston County, Blake earned his Communication degree from Texas A&M University and his J.D. from South Texas College of Law. Since being admitted to the State Bar in 2015, his impressive achievements include earning a Top 100 Verdict in Texas, and being named as a Top 10 Texas Attorney under 40 (will verify once accolades are sent). Recognized as a Texas Rising Star Lawyer in consecutive years and a recipient of Galveston Daily News’ 40 Under 40 honor, Blake exemplifies legal excellence and community impact.

Beyond the courtroom, Blake is deeply engaged in his community. As a father of 3, you can often find him coaching a team, cheering on the sidelines at one of their many activities, or serving as VP of the Little League Board.
Additionally, Blake is a long-time volunteer with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, and an active church member alongside his wife Tara. In 2023, he expanded his service to Galveston County by being sworn in as Justice of the Peace for Precinct 2.
